This blog is devoted to master studies and the examination of drafting, illustration, and fine art painting.
At its most basic, a master study is a student's attempt to replicate a preexisting work by an established artist for the sake of practice and improvement. In mimicking the "Old Masters," the student hopes to gain insight into both technique and medium.
Though this blog will be primarily devoted to sketch and figure drawing, attempts at water color and oil paint will also be made.
